Freight Handler

Midland Transport is currently looking for a Freight Handler at the Corner Brook Terminal . Ensure freight is properly manifested before departure. Verify freight counts, labels, destinations, and shipping documentation for accuracy. Identify and report damaged, overage, shortage, or misdirected freight. Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Support cross-docking operations, inventory counts, freight audits, and special customer requirements. Assist drivers, customers, and other team members as needed while providing professional service. Participate in weekend reefer checks and other operational duties as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous warehouse, freight handling, or LTL transportation experience is an asset. Forklift certification is considered an asset. Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills. Basic computer skills required. Dependable with a positive attitude and strong commitment to safety. Ability to regularly lift up to 70 lbs (32 kg).

Comfortable with repetitive lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods. Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
