Dispatcher

REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open Until Filled LENGTH OF WORK YEAR: 226 days DATE REVISED JUL 28, 2025 WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Non-Exempt SALARY RANGE: $15.97 Minimum $22.51 Maximum PAY GRADE: CO3 PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Transportation and Bus Driver Supervisor, the Dispatcher is responsible for any assignments made to him/her with particular emphasis on those listed below.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Graduate or GED Effective communication skills Knowledgeable in bus routes required Knowledgeable in field trip assignments and procedures Certified bus driver with CDL (Passenger Endorsement) preferred Knowledge relating to safety issues Knowledge in GPS systems and map reading MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Assign buses from routes, mid-days, and trips as necessary.
• To ensure that all field trips are properly staffed.
• To ensure that all field trips are properly carried out.
• To monitor the two-way radio system.
• To monitor routes and field trips.
• To train drivers on use of two-way radios.
• To drive a school bus as needed.
• Maintain all binders and keys at all times
• Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.
• Performs other related duties as assigned. EQUIPMENT USED:

• Occasional prolonged irregular hours
• Frequent district travel
