Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI):

• Plan and instruct leadership education courses (can instruct aerospace science in the absence of the SASI).
• Instruct students by lecture, guided discussion, lecture and discussion, student briefing or report, student panel, teaching interview, guest lecture, team teaching, demonstration-performance, role playing, and brain-storming using large and small group interaction.
• Review, support, and execute course syllabi, daily and weekly lesson plans, assignments, demonstrations, training aids, reference materials, and any related data used to accomplish course and lesson objectives.
• Evaluate student progress, diagnose individual learning problems, and initiate corrective action, as appropriate. Encourage students, through proactive counseling, to complete high school and pursue higher education goals.
• During student summer vacations, ASIs under contract may teach leadership education courses; assist the SASI with leadership seminars and drill practices; attend Summer Leadership Schools (SLS); update lesson plans; develop associated media aids; attend AFJROTC workshops; solicit assistance from support base personnel; contact government surplus agencies.
• Ensure effective development of cadet officials and ensures cadet operations and activities align with the SASI's policies.
• Perform duties as the unit's Military Property Custodian. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 month position School year as established by the Board and Administrators Board paid benefits Vacation Days Actual contract amount will commensurate with qualifications and experience and determined by the Air Force QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Missouri teaching certificate in the area applied for.
