About the Role

The Cashier plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient transaction process within the accommodation and food services environment. This position is responsible for accurately handling customer payments, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. The Cashier will interact directly with customers, addressing inquiries and resolving any issues promptly to enhance the overall customer experience.

Additionally, the role involves performing janitorial duties and managing physical tasks such as lifting and carrying heavy items to support daily operations. Ultimately, the Cashier contributes to the business's success by fostering a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring all financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in cashiering or customer service roles. Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately. Ability to perform repetitive motions and stand for extended periods. Capability to lift and carry heavy weights safely.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in the accommodation and food services industry. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash register operations. Strong phone etiquette and communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

Operate cash registers to process customer purchases accurately and efficiently. Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper change is given. Provide friendly and professional customer service, addressing questions and concerns promptly. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, including performing janitorial duties as needed.

Assist with lifting and carrying heavy items to support stock replenishment and store maintenance. Manage phone etiquette by answering calls courteously and directing inquiries appropriately. Work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs, including weekends and holidays. Skills: The required skills such as cashiering and cash register operation are essential for processing transactions accurately and efficiently on a daily basis.
