Elementary ELA Tutor (Grades K–5)

Help young scholars build strong reading and writing skills while gaining valuable classroom experience. PRACTICE is seeking a motivated and dependable individual to provide in-person English Language Arts (ELA) tutoring to elementary school scholars in Grades K–5, with a focus on reading and writing. Whether you're a college student, recent graduate, or someone interested in gaining experience in education, this entry-level opportunity allows you to develop valuable classroom skills while helping young scholars build the literacy foundations they need for academic success.

As a PRACTICE Education Champion, you'll work alongside classroom teachers to provide individualized academic support and create a positive, encouraging learning environment. Position Details Compensation: $25/hr to $27/hr Format: In-person tutoring Grade Levels: Kindergarten–5th Grade Subject: English Language Arts (ELA), with a focus on Reading and Writing Completion Bonus: Opportunity to earn up to 10% of total program earnings upon successful program completion, subject to eligibility requirements.

What You'll Do

Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in reading and writing for scholars in Grades K–5. Support foundational literacy skills, including phonics, vocabulary, reading fluency, and comprehension, as appropriate to each grade level. Help scholars strengthen sentence formation, grammar, and written expression. Collaborate with classroom teachers to reinforce lessons and address individual learning needs.

Create an encouraging and inclusive environment that promotes confidence, participation, and academic growth. Maintain consistent attendance, professionalism, and communication throughout the program.

What We're Looking For

Strong reading, writing, and communication skills. Interest in working with elementary school scholars and supporting their academic development. Availability to work at least three weekdays per week during school hours. Dependability, professionalism, and commitment to an agreed-upon program schedule. Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and collaborate with educators.

Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or youth-development experience is a plus, but not required . Why Join PRACTICE?
