Employment Type: Part time Shift: Day Shift Description: Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Mental Health worker to join our team of mission-driven healthcare professionals located on our Behavioral Health Unit located at Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, CT . The Mental Health Worker / Behavioral Health Tech is key role to keep patients engaged in recovery-oriented activities, help to communicate patient’s needs to the clinical team, to monitor patient safety and to work with the nursing professionals to create a healing environment for patients.
You Will Be Responsible For: Performs patient observations and other patient care activities. Observes patient behavior. Performs, reports, and documents vital signs, ADLs. Responds rapidly to emergency call lights and performs safety checks. Provides group and individual interventions to assist the psychiatric patient towards recovery and rehabilitation.
Requirements
Education
High School Diploma/Equivalent with related experience required. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred Certification: AHA CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers Experience: Possesses a broad practical understanding of life experiences and the ability to relate to emotionally ill individuals. Prior experience in psychiatric/behavioral Health setting a plus.
