Director of Sales (Institutional)
Job description
The Director of Sales will lead Biome’s commercial growth strategy across key customer segments including: Furniture manufacturers Interior contractors Architects and designers Institutional buyers Enterprise and strategic accounts This role requires a high ownership operator who can build systems, close complex deals, shape GTM strategy, and help establish Biome as a category defining materials brand.
Revenue Growth & Market Expansion Drive sales growth across core product categories and geographies Develop and execute short term and long term GTM strategies Build strong pipelines across institutional, enterprise, and channel sales Identify high value partnerships and market opportunities Strategic Account Management Build relationships with architects, developers, OEMs, contractors, and procurement teams Lead enterprise negotiations and commercial partnerships Create repeatable frameworks for large account acquisition and retention Sales Systems & Team Building Build and lead high performance sales teams over time Develop sales processes, CRM discipline, reporting structures, and forecasting systems Establish KPIs and performance frameworks Brand & Ecosystem Development Represent Biome at industry events, exhibitions, and strategic forums Work closely with design, marketing, and product teams to shape market positioning Translate customer feedback into commercial and product insights Cross Functional Collaboration Coordinate with operations and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth execution Support pricing strategy, product launches, and commercial planning Help align supply capabilities with demand generation Requirements The ideal candidate combines: Strategic thinking Strong execution capability Relationship driven selling Deep understanding of B2B sales cycles Comfort working in fast evolving startup environments Minimum requirement: 15+ years experience in B2B sales, business development, or strategic partnerships Experience in building materials, furniture, interiors, manufacturing, construction, sustainability, or related sectors preferred Proven ability to close large and complex deals Strong network across architecture, interiors, real estate, or manufacturing ecosystems is a plus Entrepreneurial mindset with high adaptability and ownership Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building from zero to one Benefits Competitive leadership compensation package Fixed take home pay Generous performance and success based bonus structure Meaningful ESOP ownership with long term upside Opportunity to shape a category defining sustainability company from an early stage High autonomy and direct access to leadership Fast growth environment with significant career acceleration Exposure to cutting edge innovation across material science, manufacturing, climate, and design Opportunity to build a high impact business with measurable environmental outcomes Travel and ecosystem exposure across architecture, furniture, manufacturing, and sustainability sectors
