Cost Accountant

Corporate Accountant Location: Greer, SC Department: Finance / Corporate Accounting Reports To: Controlling & Finance Manager Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Corporate Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and key financial processes including month-end close, tax filings, project accounting, and annual audits.

This position requires strong general accounting knowledge, hands-on SAP experience , and experience maintaining Percentage of Completion (POC) reporting for projects . The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and able to work collaboratively within a corporate accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities. Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate financial transactions within SAP . Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies. Maintain Percentage of Completion (POC) reporting for projects , including tracking project financial activity and reporting updates.

Prepare and file sales and use tax returns in accordance with applicable regulations. Support financial reporting and other accounting projects as assigned. Support annual external audits by preparing schedules, reports, and supporting documentation. Maintain accurate accounting records and appropriate financial documentation.

Work cross-functionally to research and resolve accounting discrepancies. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal procedures. Assist with process improvements that strengthen accounting accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting, or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a corporate or business environment. Hands-on SAP experience required. Experience with Percentage of Completion (POC) reporting required. Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and account reconciliation.

Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and financial reporting. Experience with sales and use tax reporting preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
