Substitute Utility Worker- Food & Nutrition Services

Job Summary

Under general direction, perform a variety of janitorial, logistical, and equipment-handling tasks to support Food & Nutrition Services operations and ensure equipment and workspaces are clean and in good condition.

Requirements

/ Qualifications Experience: Two (2) years of experience in food service work, janitorial and/or cleaning experience, delivery/ transport, warehouse support, facility operations, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Education

Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by coursework or training in food safety. A scanner to upload required documents is available in the Human Resources office located at 1330 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93301. Comments and Other Information CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: A preplacement medical assessment and substance abuse test, at office expense, is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.

This position will require part of the work shift to occur outside of the school business hours. Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license which must be maintained for the duration of the assignment. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
