About Us
For over 60 years, M. J. Electric, LLC, a Quanta Services company, has built-long standing working relationships and an industry-wide reputation as the single source solution to our customer’s electrical utility construction and maintenance needs. MJE values integrity, is inspired by our work, and is invested in delivering quality projects for our customers.

We stand by everything we do. We are committed to investing in our employees and their growth through training, tools, equipment, industry-leading safety measures, advancement opportunities and more.
At M. J. Electric, you aren’t just applying for job, you are building a career. About this Role – Forward Deployed Engineer We are looking for a talented Forward Deployed Engineer who has a passion for quality construction. This role plants a technology and AI-driven problem solver directly on our construction projects.
You won’t be in a back-office writing reports. You’ll be on the project, walking the site, sitting in planning meetings, and working shoulder-to-shoulder with project managers, engineers, and field leaders. You will be working closely with project management to develop better information flow, scheduling intelligence, risk detection, and reporting.
This role is not limited to one project or one problem. You will support our portfolio of work and go where the highest-impact opportunities are. What You’ll Do
- Understand manual processes, frustrations, and workarounds; match the right technology to each business problem.
- Take ownership of broken processes and build solutions.
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle: identify problems, prototype, iterate with users, and deploy into daily workflows.
- Design and deploy scalable solutions using modern technology with an AI-forward approach: AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Databricks), data analytics, automation platforms, custom applications, and integrations with existing construction systems.
- Build dashboards, automated reports, and data pipelines that give project leadership real-time visibility into what matters most.
- Maintain strong knowledge of LLM capabilities, implementation patterns, and AI product development stacks.
- Manage relationships across leadership, field teams, and corporate functions.
- Align priorities, communicate progress, and drive adoption of new tools and processes.
- Champion AI/technology adoption by providing hands-on mentorship and guidance to cross-functional teams.
- Serve as the bridge between construction expertise and the rapidly evolving world of AI and technology.
- Translate field needs into technical solutions and technical capabilities into practical applications. What You’ll Bring - 5+ years of experience in technical roles solving complex operational problems such as technology consulting, solution architecture, solutions engineering, construction technology, or a similar embedded technical role.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, including extended stays on project sites nationwide.
- Databricks experience is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to build custom applications, dashboards, systems and data integrations using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Databricks, as well as traditional code (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript) or low-code platforms.
- Fluency with modern AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) and a track record of applying them to real-world operational problems.
- Strong technical aptitude: comfortable with data analysis, scripting, automation, and building workflows that connect systems and people.
- Proven stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills at any level.
- Experience in and/or understanding of electrical construction, infrastructure, power delivery or industrial project environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with construction project management tools (Procore, Primavera P6, Smartsheet, or similar) is a plus.
- Experience in YAML and GitHub is a plus.
- Background in engineering, computer science, management information systems, construction management, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience at a technology-focused consulting firm (Pariveda, Credera, Thoughtworks, Accenture, Deloitte, Slalom, or similar) is a plus. What You’ll Get - 401(k) with company match (Traditional & Roth)
- Paid Holidays and PTO
- Medical, Dental, and Vision
- Flexible Spending Accounts
- Health Savings Account
- Accident Insurance
- Hospital Indemnity Insurance
- Critical Illness Insurance
