C Shift Rewind Machine Operator

Summary: The Rewind Operator is responsible for keeping the rewinders up and running. Backup rewind operator. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Have full knowledge of all phases of label production Art capabilities Press Capabilities Finishing capabilities Receives job assignments from Press Supervisor or Team Lead; reads job specifications and selects correct cores and rewind method for job Reviews the job jacket to ensure all finishing, packaging, and shipping specifications are addressed.

Inspect products to ensure quality integrity and package products Observes the flow of material through the machine to detect irregular cutting and winding Ensure quality of work includes color, size, die cut, perforations, print, and quantity of packaged items being shipped Assist in cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging converting jobs.

Perform preventative maintenance on machines Remove or replace blades on inspection machines Completes paperwork for each job and packages finished goods for shipment to the customer. Keeps work areas clean, clear, and organized; maintains housekeeping standards Qualifications/Skills/Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Ability to climb a ladder and step a stool Must be able to read, understand and follow written work instructions in English, including safety instructions, operating procedures, policies, and other job-related documentation necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
