Contract Administrator - Commercial Construction

Hawkins Construction, a premier Commercial General Contracting firm, is seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join our team in a permanent office-based role. This position focuses on subcontractor procurement for ground-up commercial projects, including Retail, Big Box Retail, Supermarkets, Municipal, Mixed-Use, Medical Office, and Multi-Family developments.

We are looking for a seasoned professional with strong commercial construction expertise who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to transition from field-based project management to a pivotal office role, eliminating the need for travel.

Key Responsibilities

Review construction plans and specifications with precision to develop comprehensive subcontractor scopes of work. Establish initial project budgets based on estimating department inputs. Procure subcontractors and materials, ensuring alignment with project requirements. Draft and manage contracts and purchase orders with accuracy and attention to detail.

Coordinate effectively with project teams and various departments to ensure seamless project execution.

Qualifications

Minimum of 7 years of commercial construction experience (essential), with a proven track record in ground-up projects. Expertise in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications (critical for success). Strong ability to develop detailed subcontractor scopes of work to ensure project clarity and efficiency.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is mandatory for managing documentation and communication. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while collaborating daily with cross-functional teams. College degree and bilingual skills are preferred but not required. We seek a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with exceptional commercial construction knowledge, plan-reading proficiency, subcontractor scope development expertise, and computer skills to drive our procurement processes.
