Job description
OEI (O’Brien Engineering & Architecture) is seeking a full-time Federal Project Manager with experience managing military and/or federal projects. We are looking for someone who has served as an architectural or engineering designer and has recent architecture and engineering design project management experience on a wide variety of federal projects.
Our company enjoys a healthy variety of federal projects/task orders so the successful candidate will show ability to manage multiple task orders in multiple states for multiple clients simultaneously, while delivering results according to the contract terms - on time, within budget, to the quality needed and expected by the scope, documented accurately, and to the clients' overall satisfaction.
Federal Project Manager Responsibilities Manage multidisciplinary project requirements, design schedules, and budgets. Assist in defining and developing project scope. Develop and negotiate fee proposals Conduct client meetings and site visits. Estimate labor hours, calculate direct costs, and establish competitive but healthy project fees.
Monitor budgets, track schedules, and measure quality benchmarks. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to expand OEI's client base and secure repeat business. Identify deviations from established project scope, schedule, or budget and implement timely corrective actions. Ensure project deliverables meet contractual requirements and client expectations.
Federal Project Manager Qualifications Demonstrated desire to learn, grow, and contribute to challenging and rewarding projects. Strong interest in mentoring and leading less experienced team members. Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is preferred.
Minimum 5 years experience leading projects for the military or other federal agencies (e.g., the Department of Veterans Affairs) is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent time management abilities. Design management experience. Registered Architect (RA/AIA) or Professional Engineer (PE, Mechanical or Electrical), a plus Past experience working for the DOD/DOW in a project management role a plus.
