Salina Regional Health Center MEDICAL LAB TECHNICIAN MLT POSITION SUMMARYThe medical lab technician performs a variety of laboratory tests, procedures and related duties, in order to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, by following established standards and practices. The medical lab technician is responsible for the orderly processing of patient specimens during the assigned work shift. This includes specimen collection, testing, processing, and reporting of accurate results. Includes issue resolution in the pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases. The technologist maintains active communication and strengthens collaborative relationships among the pathologists, medical staff, nursing units, their specific section, and other lab staff.
