Senior Patient Account Rep - Clinics

PRIMARY PURPOSE/FUNCTION: This position will provide leadership to the clerical staff in the clinic so that the charge process is effective and efficient.# Individual will be responsible for the scheduling, registering, pre-registering, obtaining authorizations/pre-certs, and coordinating charge entry processing for the physician practice.

This position will be responsible for answering inquiries from patients and insurance companies in a professional manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational and/or Professional Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous Experience: Minimum of three year experience in patient accounting environment. At least two years prior experience with professional fee billing for a physician#s office or hospital setting. Ability to operate a computer and various computer software programs.

Other Special Training/Skills: Possess excellent communication skills, oral and written. Possess a preference for dealing with people who are ill and need help. Possess the tack to deal effectively with patients, doctors, other employees and insurance companies. Possess a preference for financial activities to understand and work with management and financial concepts in a medical office setting.

Possess the sense of discipline to work in accordance with accepted business standards.
