Job Description: The Area Supervisor is responsible for coordination and communication for their designated areas. Their responsibilities include onboarding and training new drivers, maintaining open communication with their direct team, and Area Manager. This supervisor's position is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day functions of their designated areas.

This position is a direct point of contact for all clients, drivers, and other personnel and will always maintain a highly professional manner. This position reports directly to their respective Area Manager of Gill Logistics Services. Assists the designated Area Manager by supervising the team�s overall success. Provides support with onboarding of new/current drivers by assisting the Manager with conducting interviews, selecting qualified drivers, and corresponding with the Human Resources Department.

Coordinates the training of all new drivers and reviews the sign-off checklist once the training is complete. Manages the workflow of all drivers in the designated area and creates weekly team schedules. Troubleshoots with Dispatch/Leadership team for any coverage needs that arise throughout the week. Provides individual feedback to new drivers and reports on any concerns to the Area Manager.

Conducts random driver inspections for all regional drivers including contractors. Completes incident and accident reports, providing all necessary documentation and photos. Reviews driver errors on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Reporting the numbers to the Area Manager on a consistent basis. Assists with the coordination of vehicle maintenance for the Fleet department.

Completes and conducts employee annual and probationary evaluations. Supports the Area Manager, with reviewing contractor weekly invoices. Fill in as the �Acting Manager� when their manager takes time off or is unavailable. Daily monitoring of driver timecards for all employee drivers assigned to the Area Supervisor. Assists with the completion of weekly contractor invoice review.

Reviews daily pre and post trip inspections, follow up with employees who show up on the speeding report. Addresses concerns with assigned employees or drivers in a timely manner, keeping the Area Manager up to date. Must be willing and able to safely and effectively drive a 26� box truck.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent. Must hold and maintain a valid Driver�s License with an acceptable driving record. Physical Requirements: This role involves extended periods of deskwork, computer usage, and phone calls. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required, along with potential driving and warehouse tasks.
