Engineering Technician II

Engineering Technician II Reports to: Engineering Supervisor About Evap. Tech: Evap. Tech is a premier cooling tower designer, manufacturer and contractor providing Research Powered Solutions for customer needs in the power generation, industrial, refrigeration and HVAC evaporative cooling markets. Evap. Tech offers new and replacement field erected cooling towers and a variety of cooling tower aftermarket services including replacement parts.

Role Definition: An Engineering Technician II is the technical resource for providing engineering, product and installation information necessary to quote and execute new and reconstruction cooling tower projects.

Responsibilities

Generate installation bills of material. Generate installation and fabrication drawings. Assist Engineering Supervisor in developing job approaches for meeting schedules and cost budgets with emphasis on overall project cost reduction and innovation. Assist with: technical specification review field problem resolution design and development of new components cooling tower inspections as required Interface with vendors to assure appropriate component application.

Engineering Technician II may be assigned as lead technician on projects by the Engineering Supervisor and may direct the work of an Engineering Technician I. Success Criteria: Ability to communicate and cooperate effectively with multiple departments and personnel. Accurate and complete bills of materials. Accurate and complete drawings Ability to design creative, cost effective solutions for construction and repair of projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years experience in detailing and application of structural, mechanical and materials detailing and application skills. Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel. Product experience in cooling tower design is preferred, but not required. Experience with all materials of construction including lumber, fiberglass, steel and concrete.
