As our Corporate Tax practice continues to grow, we are looking for an Associate to join our collaborative team. You will work alongside experienced tax professionals on strategic tax reviews, corporate tax matters and innovative client solutions, with coaching and support to grow your technical and commercial capability.
You will collaborate across the business and contribute fresh thinking while working with a diverse range of high-value global clients. We use AI and digital tools to deliver high-quality, efficient client service, so curiosity about technology and a willingness to build your digital skills will help you succeed. Your day-to-day could include: Use GenAI, digital tools, PwC methodologies and quality frameworks to improve efficiency, consistency and client outcomes Support team members across advisory and compliance work Build trusted client relationships and communicate clearly with stakeholders Spot opportunities to add value for clients and contribute to business development and portfolio growth Research and prepare practical, technically sound advice on tax matters, including acquisitions, divestments, tax reviews, corporate tax issues and other advisory assignments Deliver tax advisory and compliance engagements of varying complexity, with guidance from Managers and Tax Partners; Senior Associates may take ownership of defined workstreams and coordinate delivery Build future-focused skills in a way that is meaningful to you while working with global clients across multiple industries Ngā pūkenga ka kawea mai e koe, ka whakawhanakehia rānei i tēnei tūranga / Skills you will bring or develop in this role 2+ years’ relevant New Zealand tax experience , gained within professional services, a commercial environment or a revenue authority.
Practical experience applying New Zealand tax legislation and supporting clients or taxpayers with tax compliance, advisory or risk matters. Experience working across corporate income tax and related tax obligations , with exposure to areas such as GST, PAYE, FBT and withholding tax advantageous. Experience reviewing financial information, tax returns or supporting documentation , identifying tax risks or discrepancies and reaching well-supported conclusions.
Ability to research tax legislation and technical issues and translate findings into clear, practical advice for clients and stakeholders. Experience managing tax compliance matters, reviews or portfolios and working collaboratively with technical specialists and other stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with confidence working through complex or unfamiliar tax issues .
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders. A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Business or a related discipline . Progress towards, or an interest in completing, a recognised professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA or equivalent would be advantageous.
