ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collects patient data and documents in the medical record within scope. Assists physician/RN with procedures as needed. Reviews physician's orders, lab requests, or follow-up needs with patient. Provides patient treatments as ordered within scope. Documents care provided in the medical record. Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the RN.

*Administers specified medications as allowed by policy and procedure and State Practice Act. Maintains supplies, including scanning, stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies. *Floats to various units based on identified need. Participates in department and unit performance improvement activities.

*Wisconsin only EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (unlicensed and temporaries not granted) and/or failed licensing examination after employment in the Mercyhealth organization. CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days (other certifications per unit requirements: ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP).

Licensed as RN in state of practice within 90 days. Extensions must be approved by HR and leader. OTHER S KILLS AND ABILITIES Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, basic computer skills are beneficial. LEVEL OF SUPERVISION N/A SUPERVISES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Notes: Would give new grad 30 days from starting as a Nurse Tech 2 to be primary sourced on IDFPR.
