Therapeutic Recreation Director

Therapeutic Recreation Director Cayuga Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is looking for quality staff to join our team! About the Position The Therapeutic Recreation Director plans and oversees a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities designed to help residents stay active, engaged, social, and as independent as possible.

Key Responsibilities

Assess residents' interests, abilities, needs, and preferences to develop meaningful activity goals. Plan and coordinate a variety of social, educational, recreational, and 1:1 activities . Create and maintain the monthly activities calendar. Complete required documentation, including assessments, progress notes, care plans, and discharge summaries.

Participate in care conferences and work with the interdisciplinary team to support resident care. Lead monthly Resident Council meetings and follow up on resident concerns. Manage the department budget and ensure resources are used effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist; OR Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field, such as Recreation and Leisure Studies, with an emphasis or concentration in Therapeutic Recreation; OR At least 5 years of experience and training working in a skilled nursing facility with older adults .
