Job description
Description Seeking Welders for Turnaround jobs occuring throughout October and beginning of November. Per Diem: Dependent Upon Location Overtime: at minimum 10-30 hours/week Rig Pay: Dependent Upon Job Needs Must be able to pass company required weld test.
Key Responsibilities
Weld and fabricate structural and piping components according to project drawings, codes, and specifications. Perform welding using SMAW, GTAW, and/or GMAW processes on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials. Prepare joints, align parts, and inspect fit-up prior to welding. Set up and operate welding machines, grinders, and cutting torches.
Conduct visual inspections and assist with nondestructive testing (NDT) as required. Maintain proper weld documentation and ensure welds meet applicable ASME, AWS, or API standards. Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols. Follow all site-specific and company safety policies, including confined space and hot work procedures.
Collaborate with fitters, pipefitters, and supervisors to complete installations and repairs efficiently.
Requirements
Skills & Competencies: Proficiency in multiple welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, GMAW). Strong understanding of welding codes, materials, and procedures. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols. Experience with structural, pipe, and vessel fabrication. Strong attention to detail, workmanship, and safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs regularly. Ability to stand, crouch, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods. Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights (scaffolding, ladders, platforms). Ability to perform repetitive tasks and maintain steady hands for precision welding.
Must be able to wear and operate PPE, including welding hoods, respirators, gloves, face shields, harnesses, and protective clothing. Tolerance for heat, sparks, fumes, confined areas, and noisy industrial environments. Must be able to pass any required drug/alcohol screening. Must be able to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and travel, as project needs demand.
Work Environment: Industrial construction and maintenance sites such as refineries, power plants, manufacturing facilities, or fabrication shops. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, elevated work areas, and heavy industrial noise. Overtime, shift work, and weekend hours may be required to meet project schedules.
