About This Position The Leasing Representative plays a key role in shaping the experience of prospective and new tenants across GMR's residential portfolio.

Often the first point of contact with our organization, this position is responsible not only for leasing available units but also for creating a welcoming, responsive, and professional experience from the initial inquiry through move-in. Working closely with the Marketing & Leasing Manager, Property Managers, and the Operations team, the Leasing Representative contributes to leasing success while helping new tenants begin their relationship with GMR on a positive note.

The role requires travel among properties in Côte Saint-Luc, Hampstead, Côte-des-Neiges–NDG, Saint-Laurent, and downtown Montréal.

Responsibilities

Respond promptly to inquiries from prospective tenants, schedule property tours, and show available units across the portfolio. Build relationships with prospective tenants, provide information on available units, and follow up on inquiries to support successful leasing outcomes. Create and maintain online rental listings, including photos, videos, and descriptions, in accordance with GMR's listing policies.

Coordinate the rental application process by ensuring all required documentation is collected and complete, conducting background and credit checks, and collaborating with the team to facilitate timely lease approvals and preparation of lease agreements. Collaborate closely with Property Managers to coordinate unit availability, property showings, unit readiness, and move-in arrangements, ensuring a smooth experience for prospective and new tenants.

Maintain accurate records of leasing activity in property management systems and provide regular updates on vacancies, inquiries, and leasing results. Collaborate with the Marketing & Leasing Manager and other team members on leasing initiatives and opportunities to improve occupancy.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience in residential leasing, sales, or a customer-facing role involving sales, with demonstrated success in achieving sales results. Strong sales drive, a proactive and results-oriented mindset, and the ability to build relationships, follow up effectively, and convert prospective tenants into successful leases.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to delivering a positive tenant experience. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of inquiries and property showings, particularly during peak leasing season. Self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with multiple teams.

Comfortable taking quality photos and videos and creating appealing online rental listings. Experience with Yardi, Rentsync, Building Stack, or other property management and leasing platforms is considered an asset. Familiarity with Quebec residential leasing practices and regulations is considered an asset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.

Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle. Availability to work evenings and weekends as required to accommodate prospective tenants and leasing activities.
