Trailer Body Mechanic

Responsibilities

Perform a wide variety of repairs, maintenance, installations, etc. for various make and models of semi-trailers and related equipment with an emphasis on bodywork. Demonstrate the ability to perform body repairs and/or replace and upgrade a variety of trailer parts including but not limited to panels, roofs, nose rails, lower & upper rails, shortening units and doors.

Perform detailed inspections of the trailers, providing a description of any problematic areas that need to be addressed. Ensure the final work product meets all quality standards. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a heavy-duty truck or trailer mechanic. Semi-trailer and/or heave duty truck body experience preferred, vans & reefers a plus. Must have a strong knowledge regarding the safe handling and operation of trailers, tractors, containers, field offices, forklifts, power jacks, lift gates, power tools, trailer parts and supplies.

Must have good communication skills. Must be able to work independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Must have own hand tools. Must adhere to all company policies including safety practices and policies. Must pass a standard pre-employment drug test and physical.
