Pre-K Facilitator
Job description
Title: District Pre-K Facilitator THE ROLE OF THE DISTRICT PRE-K FACILITATOR In collaboration with district administrators and principals, the program shall employ at least one instructional leader (master teacher, curriculum coordinator, or education coordinator) with a bachelor's degree in childhood development or early childhood education and specific early childhood expertise and expertise in serving culturally and linguistically diverse children for every ten (10) PFAE classrooms.
An instructional leader provides embedded professional development and implements a professional learning community focused on instructional excellence. The leader develops, cultivates, and maintains a professional learning community across classroom instructional staff. The instructional leader: Coordinates teacher training and professional development on selected curricula Provides support to classroom education staff in creating lesson plans that are faithful to the curriculum and developmentally appropriate.
Review lesson plans and provide teachers with timely feedback and recommendations. Conducts regular observation in all assigned classroom and maintain records Engages education staff in individual and group reflective coaching to discuss observations and develop a plan to strengthen challenging areas and build on areas of strength Supports peer observation and learning between classrooms/sites Collaborates with classroom education staff to develop individual professional development plans for each staff member Identifies professional development opportunities offered by the district, regional, and state professional development providers Participates in professional development opportunities, including workshops and conferences, to bring new and emerging best practices into the program Identifies resources and materials that will support instructional quality and integrate them into program practices Develops internal systems and procedures that advance instructional quality that align to teaching staff goals and needs Develops and facilitates a professional learning community focused on needs of the teachers Supervises and support Parents Coordinators
