Group Exercise Coordinator

The Old Colony YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Group Exercise Coordinator to help lead and grow our Group Exercise program at the Plymouth YMCA. This position provides leadership and support to our Group Exercise Instructor team while helping create a welcoming, engaging, and high-quality experience for our members.

The ideal candidate is passionate about group fitness, enjoys building relationships with instructors and members, and is comfortable balancing scheduling, staff supervision, communication, and program development. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Group Exercise Instructor Minimum of one nationally recognized Group Exercise certification; Les Mills certification preferred Demonstrated ability to create, manage, and grow a successful Group Exercise schedule Strong understanding of how to evaluate a Group Exercise schedule, including class participation, class targets, cost per head, instructor availability, and member needs Ability to identify gaps and opportunities within the schedule and make thoughtful adjustments to strengthen participation and the overall member experience Strong organizational and scheduling skills, with the ability to coordinate a large team of instructors, manage schedule changes, and maintain consistent class coverage Experience recruiting, training, supporting, and providing feedback to Group Exercise Instructors Strong leadership, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills Ability to use participation data and member feedback to help guide programming decisions Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; social media experience preferred
