Sustaining Engineer

Description We are seeking a Sustaining Engineer to support and improve the performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness of our existing product lines. This role bridges engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure continuous product improvement, resolve design-related issues, and maintain compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Own engineering support for legacy products, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Investigate and resolve product issues including design defects, supplier changes, and field returns. Drive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives without compromising performance or quality. Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to implement product updates and process improvements.

Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, and ECNs. Evaluate components and materials for potential obsolescence and implement suitable alternatives. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA). Ensure ongoing product compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. 3+ years of experience in sustaining, product support, or manufacturing engineering (preferably in industrial equipment or foodservice manufacturing). Proficient in CAD software (e.g., Solid. Works), ERP systems, and engineering change processes.

Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on mechanical aptitude. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
