Consumer Lending Specialist- Full-Time- Louisville, KY

Summary Reporting to the Consumer Lending Assistant Manager, this full-time, non-exempt hourly role assists members via telephone and internet by answering lending questions and solving any lending issues for the member including basic mortgage questions, while providing accurate and complete information. The Consumer Lending Specialist works to thoroughly interview a member or potential member to capture accurate and complete information to enable the Loan Committee to review and decision a consumer loan application.

This Specialist gathers all information to prepare loan documents and set up loan closings for approved consumer loans, and also initiates Home Equity and 1 st Mortgage applications over the phone/internet before forwarding on to a Mortgage Specialist.

Essential Functions

& Responsibilities Assisting members over the phone & internet with consumer loan questions, while providing accurate and complete information. Help determine the needs and payment plans in conjunction with taking consumer loan applications over the phone. Having superior phone etiquette and strong interpersonal skills to create an exceptional member service experience.

Meet and exceed all productivity, quality standards and cross-selling of ancillary products on consumer loans as established by Management. Follow all loan & Credit Union policies and maintain confidentiality. Maintain member files and gather supporting loan documents according to established procedures and policies for consumer lending.

Cooperate and work together as a team with coworkers and perform any extra duties that are needed by management. Making out bound calls to members for potential consumer lending opportunities. Assisting members/potential members over the phone & internet with Real-estate questions, while providing accurate and complete information.

Help determine the best option for the callers needs on mortgage lending topics. Start the process of a HELOC & 1 st Mortgage application over the phone/internet.

Qualifications

and Certifications A high school education or GED required. 1 to 3 years of similar or related experience required. Basic computer literacy required.
