Job description

DESCRIPTION: The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs (RSIP) is seeking a Part-time (0.5 FTE) Commercial Art Teacher who will have the opportunity to work within Long Island High School for the Arts (LIHSA). The candidate must be able to teach both first and second year-level students.

Responsibilities include

Developing and implementing lesson plans, assignments, assessments, and other instructional materials using effective teaching methods Designing and implementing an arts-integrated curriculum aligned with New York State Arts and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Standards Fostering a school culture that upholds high academic and artistic expectations, promoting a supportive and engaging learning environment Gathering, reporting, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative student data to inform and refine instructional plans REQUIREMENTS: New York State Education Department (NYSED) Certification: Commercial Art (Grades 7-12) Proven experience supporting students in a CTE setting Demonstrated ability to collaborate with industry professionals Professional experience as a working artist SALARY: As per labor contract Non-Discrimination Statement The Nassau BOCES offers employment and educational opportunities without regard to age, color, creed, disability, familial status, gender, gender expression, gender identity, marital status, military/veteran status, national origin, predisposing genetic characteristics, race, religion (including religious practice and/or expression), sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical condition), sexual orientation, victim of domestic violence status or any other characteristic or status protected by applicable law.
