PAINTER Pelican Inn & Suites ABOUT THE PROPERTY Located along the scenic shores of Moonstone Beach in Cambria, Pelican Inn & Suites is a relaxed oceanfront retreat offering bright, comfortable accommodations just steps from the Pacific. The hotel features spacious rooms and suites, many with ocean views, private patios or balconies, and cozy fireplaces, along with a heated pool and spa, complimentary parking and Wi-Fi, and complimentary breakfast bites.

With its beautiful coastal setting and easy access to Cambria, Hearst Castle, local wineries, and Central Coast attractions, Pelican Inn & Suites offers a welcoming home base for guests looking to slow down and enjoy the California coast. THE ROLE As a Painter, you’ll help keep our hotels looking fresh, polished, and well maintained.

You’ll handle interior and exterior painting projects from preparation through clean-up, taking pride in the details and making sure every finished space meets our standards. You will: Paint interior and exterior surfaces throughout the property Prepare surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and masking as needed Select and apply appropriate paints, stains, sealers, varnishes, and other finishes Follow project instructions and established application techniques Protect surrounding surfaces, furnishings, and fixtures during painting projects Maintain an organized inventory of paint and supplies Safely handle, store, and dispose of paints and other chemicals in accordance with applicable requirements Clean work areas, tools, and equipment thoroughly after completing projects Properly label and store leftover paint and materials Complete minor repairs and touch-ups as needed Assist the Engineering team with special maintenance and property improvement projects Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE The hotel looks fresh, polished, and well cared for.

Painting projects are completed with quality and attention to detail, surfaces are properly prepared, work areas are left clean, and materials are handled safely and responsibly. You’re dependable, take pride in your work, and can be trusted to complete projects from start to finish. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR 2+ years of painting experience, preferably in a hotel, hospitality, commercial, or similar environment Experience with interior and exterior painting and surface preparation Knowledge of patching, caulking, sanding, masking, and applying various finishes Comfortable working with painting tools, equipment, and materials Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship Ability to follow instructions, prioritize projects, and work independently Knowledge of safe chemical handling, storage, and disposal practices Dependable, organized, and willing to support the Engineering team as needed English-speaking or bilingual Valid driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance, and good driving record Ability to work indoors and outdoors and safely perform the physical requirements of the role, including climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 lbs.
