Specialist - Sales Merchandising

Your focus will be on the customer and also include distribution within our key accounts. A problem solver willing to think outside the box to achieve results. Optimizes retail store conditions (distribution, pricing, promotion, shelving and unsaleable) of refrigerated goods at retail supermarkets through on-going sales visits and by influencing store personnel.

Solves problems, logs activities and reports back on store conditions and competitive activity. Influence store personnel (dairy managers, store managers, etc.) Maintain and expand distribution at existing retail customers, and gain new distribution at independents and distributor supplied retail customers. Check pricing and order tags.

Maintain and optimize shelf position and facings. Check code dates, rotate product, check back room inventory and other actions to minimize unsaleable and maintain package and product quality. Place POS materials and sell in upcoming promotions. Educate and train store personnel on products in general and industry and category information.

Solicit feedback from store personnel on issues, opportunities, service levels, competitive activity. Effectively maintain/plan route, log activities, perform required follow-up, report on store conditions and issues, and report competitive activity.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/equivalent required. This position requires a licensed driver with their own reliable transportation. Consumer package goods retail merchandising/sales experience preferred with a direct or broker sales organization. Experience handling perishable products preferred. Job Type: Full-time Salary: $17.
