Phlebotomist

Position Summary

Performs a variety of specimen collection techniques using standard collection devices. Instructs patients on proper preparation/collection for tests ordered and distributes collection containers when necessary Processes specimens for testing including identifying; sorting; aliquoting; centrifuging and labeling specimens appropriately Checks laboratory specimens and requisition forms for accuracy.

Submits requisitions and orders tests in multiple laboratory systems # Education, Credential, Training, and Experience Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Ability to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable ####Preferred: Completion of Phlebotomy Program or completion of a hospital-led training program; completed competency required upon hire or upon completion of training program.

Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency Certified through ASCP or ASPT upon hire. Previous experience as a phlebotomist minimum 1 year
