Manufacturing Project Engineer

Project Engineer – Manufacturing / New Model Launch Location: Liberty, NC (On-Site) (1518614) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Industry: Automotive / Battery Manufacturing Experience: 5+ Years Travel: Up to 10% Overtime: Up to 25%, based on project needs Position Overview K&K Technical Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support manufacturing operations and new model launch activities at a major automotive battery manufacturing facility in Liberty, North Carolina.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing project management, project scheduling, KPI reporting, and cross-functional coordination. This individual will play a key role in managing project milestones, supporting production readiness, and ensuring successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate manufacturing projects and new model launch activities from planning through start of production. Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, milestones, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Track project progress, identify potential delays, and communicate updates to management and executive leadership.

Lead cross-functional project meetings to review schedules, address challenges, and implement corrective actions. Support pre-production trials, including parts coordination, scheduling, and production readiness activities. Coordinate facility preparation, equipment installation milestones, and construction-related project activities.

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, facilities, and project management teams. Identify project risks, troubleshoot issues, and develop solutions to maintain project timelines. Prepare project reports, presentations, and performance dashboards using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other reporting tools.

Support continuous improvement initiatives, process standardization, and lessons-learned activities. Coordinate with domestic and international teams as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, or 5+ years of equivalent professional project experience . Minimum 5 years of experience in project engineering, project management, or a related role.

Experience managing projects involving capital investments exceeding $500,000. Strong experience developing project schedules, tracking milestones, and reporting KPIs. Experience presenting project updates and performance metrics to senior leadership. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other project reporting tools.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Willingness to work onsite and support occasional overtime, weekends, holidays, or plant shutdowns as needed. Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 10%.
