The Great Outdoors Blue Heron Restaurant Job Title: Part-Time Server Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Food & Beverage Manager Position Summary The Part-Time Server is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by ensuring guests have an enjoyable dining experience. This position requires a friendly, professional attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Servers are expected to maintain high standards of hospitality while accurately taking orders, delivering food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Essential Duties

& Responsibilities Greet guests promptly with a welcoming and professional attitude. Present menus, answer questions, and make food and beverage recommendations. Accurately take and enter guest orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system. Serve food and beverages in a timely and courteous manner. Monitor tables throughout the meal, anticipating guest needs and ensuring satisfaction.

Process guest payments accurately using cash, credit cards, or other approved methods. Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, server stations, and beverage stations. Assist with opening and closing duties, including stocking supplies, setting tables, and cleaning work areas. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.

Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and fellow team members to ensure efficient service. Resolve guest concerns professionally and notify management of any issues requiring assistance. Assist with banquet, catering, and special events as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Previous serving or hospitality experience preferred but not required. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct.

Ability to obtain or maintain any required food handler or alcohol service certifications. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as scheduled.

Schedule Part-time (approximately 15–30 hours per week). Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require. Work Environment Work is performed in a restaurant setting with frequent interaction with guests and staff. Employees must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and a commitment to excellent customer service.
