Cloud Architect
Job description
We are seeking a hands-on Cloud Architect centered on Google Cloud Platform, blending architecture, DevOps and Platform Engineering to design, build, automate and operate production-grade platforms. The role demands strong ownership across reliability, security and scalability — from high-level design through to day-to-day operational delivery.
Responsibilities
Design and evolve secure, scalable GCP architectures for production workloads, translating application and platform requirements into practical, cost-effective infrastructure solutions Lead the design, build and delivery of GCP infrastructure, spanning project structure, identity & access management, VPC networking, managed Kubernetes, load balancing, egress controls and platform-level services Build and maintain declarative Infrastructure as Code using modular, reusable patterns with controlled configuration promotion across multiple environments and a disciplined state management approach Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines that integrate application build, test automation, container image workflows and Kubernetes deployment to support fast, reliable and auditable releases Operate and continuously improve production Kubernetes platforms, covering cluster lifecycle management, access controls, autoscaling, resource governance and deployment integration Partner with application development teams to provide the platform capabilities, tooling and deployment patterns required for reliable production delivery of microservices Implement and evolve a comprehensive observability strategy, including metrics, alerting, log aggregation, dashboarding and distributed tracing, to support troubleshooting, performance analysis and incident response Drive automation of operational and configuration tasks and contribute to architecture decisions spanning networking, security, availability, scalability and multi-cloud strategy Manage incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, implement preventive controls and drive reliability improvements without sacrificing delivery velocity Requirements 7+ years of hands-on experience designing, building and operating production cloud environments, with GCP as the primary platform and familiarity with at least one other major cloud provider such as AWS or Azure Professional experience that bridges architecture and engineering, with comfort moving from high-level design into implementation, automation and operational delivery Expertise in GCP core services, IAM, VPC networking, load balancing, NAT and firewall rules Proficiency in Kubernetes, including RBAC, autoscaling (HPA/VPA), container runtimes and image registries Skills in declarative Infrastructure as Code tooling, reusable module design, multi-environment state management and secrets handling Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline orchestration, build automation, configuration management and Git.
Ops patterns Experience implementing observability stacks, including metrics & alerting, dashboarding, log aggregation and distributed tracing, and using telemetry data to drive reliability, performance and capacity decisions Familiarity with microservices ecosystems, document, cache and relational datastores, and message streaming Understanding of identity federation, secret management, policy-as-code, network segmentation and vulnerability scanning Track record of working effectively with application development teams to align platform capabilities with engineering needs Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate architectural trade-offs and influence decisions across technical and non-technical stakeholders
