Sworn Law Enforcement Officer

• Houston, TX, Position Type: Part Time, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Maintains safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry. Patrol JCC facilities and grounds, inspect buildings and access points, and identify conditions that may affect the safety of members, visitors, and staff. Monitor surveillance systems and respond to alarms, suspicious activity, disturbances, and requests for assistance.

Enforce applicable Texas laws and city and county ordinances within the officer’s legal authority. Assist contract security personnel and JCC staff with enforcing JCC policies, addressing violations, and resolving safety concerns. Respond to emergencies, assess the situation, take appropriate action, and coordinate with law enforcement, fire, and medical responders.

Interview victims and witnesses, preserve relevant evidence, and prepare accurate, timely incident reports. Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic during daily operations, programs, and special events. Report incidents, significant enforcement actions, equipment problems, and emerging safety concerns to the Director of Security and Chief of Facilities.

Maintain current active shooter response training, including ALERRT, and participate in required drills and refresher training. Maintain a professional and approachable law enforcement presence while supporting a safe, welcoming environment across JCC facilities.

Qualifications

Must be a certified/licensed law enforcement officer. Successful completion of a TCOLE-licensed Basic Peace Officer Course (BPOC) at an approved training academy or college. Why Choose Us?
