HOW YOU'LL MAKE IMPACT You’ll build and operate goal-oriented AI agents that automate SRE, DevOps, and DBA workflows across Airwallex’s global infrastructure, including incident investigation and remediation, infrastructure provisioning, deployment orchestration, database operations, and capacity management.

• Design reliable agent architectures with planning, reasoning, tool use, error recovery, safety guardrails, auditability, and human-in-the-loop escalation for systems that interact with production infrastructure.
• Integrate agents with Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, GCP, Aliyun, databases, monitoring and observability platforms, and CI/CD pipelines through well-designed tool interfaces.
• Define evaluation frameworks and metrics such as task completion rate, accuracy, time to resolution, and escalation rate to measure and improve agent performance.
• Partner with SRE, DevOps, and platform engineering teams to identify high-value workflows, understand operational pain points, and translate them into useful agent capabilities.
• Shape the technical vision for how AI agents can transform infrastructure operations, staying close to new developments in agentic AI. You'll work from our Singapore office WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR ESSENTIALS - 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong proficiency in a backend language such as Python, Go, Java, or Kotlin.
• Practical experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Aliyun; container orchestration with Kubernetes; infrastructure as code with Terraform; and CI/CD systems.
• Strong system design skills, with the ability to architect reliable, safe, and scalable systems that interact with production infrastructure.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively across cross-functional teams in a global environment.
• Hands-on experience building agentic AI systems that autonomously plan, reason, and execute multi-step tasks using LLMs, including agent-loop design, tool-use orchestration, and agent state and memory management. PREFERRED
• Experience with agent orchestration frameworks such as Lang. Graph, CrewAI, Auto. Gen, or custom agent frameworks, and LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic.
• Experience with observability and monitoring systems such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or the ELK stack.
• Experience with database administration or automation, including schema migrations, query optimisation, and backup and recovery.
• Understanding of SRE practices such as incident response, runbooks, postmortems, and SLOs/SLIs.
