Pharmacy Technician - Certified - Pharmacy OR Pharmacy Trainee

Functioning within the Health System#s mission, values, objectives, policies and procedures, the Certified Pharmacy Technician works as a partner with the Registered Pharmacists and Pharmacy Interns in performing the functions of dispensing, billing and recordkeeping in the Pharmacy Department and throughout the Health System.

#Responsibilities include preparation of unit medication dose packaging, medication labeling and distribution, IV admixture compounding, and preparation and delivery of floor stock items. #The Certified Pharmacy Technician works with the Pharmacist to ensure medication storage areas inside and outside of the pharmacy are clean and secure.

#All duties are performed under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.

Education

#High school diploma or equivalent is required# Licensure/Certification: Certification by a nationally recognized exam (i.e. ExCPT by the National Healthcareer Association OR the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required. A valid unrestricted registration with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a #Certified Pharmacy Technician# is required ## ### ### ### # # Experience: #One year of previous experience is preferred; preferably in a hospital setting.

Skills: Must have strong clerical and numerical abilities, including a good understanding of the metric system of weights and measurements. #Good communication and organizational skills and attention to detail are also required.#
