Butchery Shop Supervisor

Position: Butchery Shop Supervisor Company: Butchersmith Stores Location: Isheri, Magodo Lagos Working Days: Monday to Saturday Time: 9am to 9pm(Depends on Schedule) Butchersmith Shop is seeking an experienced, results-driven, and proactive Butchery Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our butchery shop. We are looking for a leader who not only manages operations efficiently but also drives business growth through excellent customer service, strategic decision-making, sales initiatives, and team leadership.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience supervising a butchery in a retail environment such as a supermarket, departmental store, mall, or butchery. This individual should possess strong commercial awareness, take ownership of departmental performance, identify growth opportunities, and consistently improve customer satisfaction and revenue.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate all daily activities within the shop. Ensure proper meat cutting, processing, packaging, display, and storage according to company standards. Maintain excellent hygiene, food safety, and sanitation practices at all times. Monitor inventory levels and minimize wastage through effective stock management.

Ensure equipment is properly maintained and report any faults promptly. Drive daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets. Develop and implement initiatives to increase customer traffic and repeat patronage. Identify new revenue opportunities through product promotions, upselling, and merchandising. Monitor sales trends and recommend improvements to increase profitability.

Build strong customer relationships that encourage loyalty and referrals. Lead, motivate, and supervise staff to achieve high performance. Train team members on operational standards, customer service, hygiene, and product knowledge. Prepare staff schedules and ensure adequate manpower during business hours. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Deliver exceptional customer service and promptly resolve customer complaints. Ensure customers receive quality products and professional assistance. Build long-term relationships with regular customers through excellent service. Ensure strict compliance with food safety regulations and company policies. Conduct routine quality checks on all meat products.

Maintain accurate operational records, stock reports, and daily sales reports. Work with little supervision or intervention of the MD Report directly to the MD Any other assigned task from the MD Requirements Qualifications: Minimum of OND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree in any relevant discipline. Minimum of 2 years' proven supervisory experience in: A butchery, Supermarket, Departmental store, Shopping mall or Retail food business.

Candidates without practical butchery supervision experience will not be considered.
