Snapshot of Daily Duties Perform routine patient check-in procedures, including patient work-ups and new patient history. Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous medications as directed by physician. Perform phlebotomy for lab work and complete required forms. Approve prescriptions and communicate with pharmacies at direction of physicians. Assist in maintaining general medical records. Schedule patient appointments and other procedures in the computer as needed. Schedule outpatient x-rays and tests as needed. The Must Haves Medical Assistant certification or the equivalent Previous M.D. office experience or clinical work. Maintain current licensure and BLS certification. Membership in the State and National SGNA recommended. Maturity, empathy, and patience. Be special – Not everyone can do what we do.
