Amazon Lab126 is looking for a Chief of Staff to join the Hardware Strategy & Ops team based in Sunnyvale. This role supports the Director of Product Development and their direct staff. In order to support the broader Hardware org's objectives, this role will bridge critical data and insights with strategic planning and operational mechanisms.

This role is critical for influencing product roadmaps across multiple product lines, synthesizing planned technology and industrial design roadmaps into actionable development strategies. This is a senior position that is responsible for driving long-term initiatives to meet business goals. You will present high judgment, excellent analytical abilities, and a creative mind to invent solutions to new and old problems.

You will collaborate with various business, operations, financial, and engineering teams across Amazon. Key job responsibilities

  • Define and manage key technology initiatives that deliver innovative product use cases, working across engineering and product teams to identify opportunities and drive execution.
  • Influence and shape product roadmaps across multiple product lines by integrating technology readiness, industrial design direction, and development capacity into roadmap recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Partner with product, UX, and engineering teams to translate customer needs and market insights into resource and technology investment priorities, ensuring development investments align with customer-facing outcomes.
  • Translate technology and design roadmaps into actionable product development strategies.
  • Drive the definition of technology initiatives across multiple product lines and hardware platforms.
  • Synthesize customer, market, and technology inputs into investment recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Develop and align resource requirements for the Hardware Product Development organization to deliver against roadmap programs.
  • Coordinate and drive the process for forecasting/reporting actual resource requirements and analysis for both individual program-level reviews as well as annual planning cycles.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the capacity of the Hardware organization and ensure we have the right teams in place to deliver against the device roadmap.
  • Translate key strategic plans into projects, identifying requirements and relevant stakeholder groups.
  • Develop insights from historical trends, including reports and documents; share and interpret those learnings with senior leadership.
  • Actively explore and design scalable execution plans for long-term strategic planning opportunities to improve operational efficiency in execution and scaling of the Hardware Organization.

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with end to end product delivery - 6+ years of technical product or program management experience - 6+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience - 8+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
