Medical Receptionist / Administrative Support Professional

You are the first face, and the first friendly voice, for people who may be having a hard day. In a small office, the front desk is the heart of the building. Plains Area Mental Health Center is looking for an organized, steady, people-focused Administrative Support Professional to run the front office at our Cherokee location.

Position Details Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday through Friday, with one rotating evening per week Location: Cherokee, with occasional travel to satellite offices as needed Department: Administrative Support What You’ll Do Greet clients in person and by phone with warmth and professionalism Register new clients and gather the information our clinical team needs Schedule and manage appointments for therapists, prescribers, and other providers Verify insurance coverage and process funding applications Collect copays and client payments and apply them accurately to accounts Protect client privacy by managing medical records and handling release of information requests Support clinical and administrative staff so everyone can focus on clients What We’re Looking For Required Medical office experience (front desk, scheduling, insurance verification, or billing) Comfortable with computers and learning new software, including electronic health records Valid driver’s license and auto insurance Preferred Bilingual skills (Spanish a plus) Behavioral health or community health experience You’ll thrive here if you are Calm and kind when a situation is stressful Detail-minded with numbers and paperwork Discreet.
