Radar Systems Engineer

Job Title: Radar Systems Engineer Company: Dalcom Engineering Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD Salary: $110,000-$180,000 Position Overview: Dalcom Engineering is currently seeking a Radar Engineer to support the application of radar systems across various domains at Aberdeen Proving Ground.

Key Responsibilities

Provide systems engineering support to radar science and technology efforts. Lead development of system architectures and integration of software and hardware subsystems. Develop, allocate, and manage user and system-level requirements. Define and assess subsystem interfaces and coordinate integration across radar/RF software and hardware components.

Evaluate design tradeoffs and balance technical risks across systems and subsystems. Develop and assess measures of performance and measures of effectiveness. Support test and evaluation planning and provide oversight of verification and validation activities. Lead and participate in technical meetings to resolve issues across software, hardware, modeling, and analysis disciplines.

Manage and lead systems engineering Integrated Product Teams. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on requirements definition, use case development, and subsystem integration. Prepare and present clear technical briefings for engineering teams, Government stakeholders, and leadership. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3+ years of relevant experience.

Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance Experience applying systems engineering to ground- or air-based radar, communications, or RF systems. Experience developing, designing, allocating, and managing user and system-level requirements. Experience developing system architectures, evaluating design tradeoffs, balancing technical risks, and defining and assessing interfaces.

Experience calculating measures of performance and measures of effectiveness. Experience overseeing verification and validation activities. Experience in test and evaluation planning. Systems engineering experience involving radar/RF software and hardware subsystems. Ability to communicate complex technical ideas and deliver clear, well-organized presentations to audiences at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of experience in radar and/or other RF system design, development, engineering, testing, evaluation, and data analysis. Knowledge of object-oriented programming. Experience with MATLAB and C++ programming. Experience with DoD systems engineering processes and tools, including DOORS and DoDAF. Experience developing system architectures and frameworks.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work toward technical and project goals.
