Teachers Assistant

Cumberland Valley School District is currently recruiting to fill a full time (7.5 hrs/day) Teacher's Assistant position. Each employee working within the Teacher's Assistant role will be responsible for supporting educators in the day-to-day functions of an assigned area within our educational team, as well as filling absences within their assigned building.

All job duties are coordinated and directed by a PA certified professional staff member.

Responsibilities

Facilitating large group instruction and activities, from the provided plans, for students. Providing one-to-one or small group reinforcement of skills for students. Assisting students with notetaking, test preparation and assignment organization. The successful candidate must have an bachelor's degree, or greater. The selected individual must complete thirty (30) hours of training annually to maintain their Highly Qualified Status and continued professional development.

The individual must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch and lift 40 pounds as having corrected hearing and vision within normal ranges. If hired for employment, the applicant must be able to submit the following: Criminal Record Check (less than one year old) PA Child Abuse History Clearance (less than one year old) FBI Finger Print Clearance (less than one year old) TB Test/Mantoux (less than 3 months old) Physical - if applicable (less than 1 year old) Applicants requiring assistance or needing any accommodations for an employment test or interviewing process are asked to advise us in advance.
