Position Overview

Joffe Emergency Services is seeking a professional and dependable full-time Campus Safety Officer (CSO) to support a school campus within the Central Richmond area. This position follows a schedule of Monday

• Friday from 10am - 6:30pm, with some weekends or longer shift days when the school has rentals or events. This role goes beyond traditional security — Campus Safety Officers are trusted members of the school community who help foster a safe, positive, and supportive campus environment. Ideal candidates are calm under pressure, approachable, observant, and comfortable working with students, staff, and families on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure campus environment for students, staff, and visitors Serve as a visible and approachable presence throughout campus Respond to campus incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns Monitor student behavior and help enforce school policies and procedures Conduct routine patrols and safety inspections of campus grounds and facilities Assist with traffic flow, parking, and visitor access Write detailed incident reports and document security-related activity Support school administration with safety and security needs as requested Assist with campus investigations, including reviewing camera footage and gathering information Help ensure campus buildings and facilities are properly secured Build positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and local law enforcement Other duties as assigned Requirements Qualifications CA Security License High school diploma or GED required Minimum of 2 years of security experience preferred Customer service experience required Experience working with children or students preferred Strong communication and problem-solving skills Comfortable working independently and in dynamic environments Ability to remain calm and professional during high-pressure situations Must be able to read and write English fluently Physical & Work Environment Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to perform routine patrols across campus grounds
