Steel Detailer (Tekla Preferred) Carlisle, PA $75,000 – $85,000/year (Based on Experience) A growing structural and miscellaneous metals company in the Carlisle area is actively hiring a Steel Detailer to support fabrication and project execution. This is a high-impact role with long-term growth, including involvement in future automation and advanced fabrication technology.

If you have strong detailing experience and want to be part of a company investing in the future of steel fabrication — this is a great opportunity. Important: Only candidates with relevant steel detailing experience and who live within a 60-mile radius will be considered. We are NOT looking for subcontractors, remote detailers, hybrid detailers, etc.

This is not an entry-level drafting position. What You’ll Be Doing: Create detailed shop drawings using Tekla or similar detailing software Interpret architectural and structural drawings Produce accurate layouts for fabrication and installation Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and shop teams Review drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and efficiency Assist with material takeoffs and project planning Support implementation of future automation systems and software Requirements What We’re Looking For: 2+ years of steel detailing experience (structural or miscellaneous metals) Experience with Tekla Structures preferred (or SDS/2, AutoCAD, etc.)

Strong understanding of fabrication processes and steel construction Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specs independently Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills Willingness to learn new systems and automation technology Benefits Compensation & Perks: $75,000 – $85,000/year depending on experience Full-time, stable position Clear path into senior detailing or automation/programming roles Work directly with leadership on improving processes and efficiency Be part of a company investing in modern fabrication technology
