Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (RN ED)

Job Responsibilities:**

• Patient Assessment & Care:** Perform rapid, accurate assessments, initiate treatment, and manage care for critically ill or injured patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center.

• Triage:** Prioritize incoming patients based on the urgency of their needs.

• Intervention:** Administer medications, manage intravenous lines, and assist with procedures such as intubations and sutures.

• Collaboration:** Work alongside emergency physicians, technicians, and specialists to develop and implement care strategies.

• Communication:** Provide clear, effective communication with patient families, emergency staff, and support teams.

• Documentation:** Maintain accurate, timely documentation of vitals, patient history, and treatment in electronic health records.

Qualifications:**

• Experience:** Previous Emergency Department or acute care experience is highly preferred.

• Licensure:** Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Virginia license or compact state license.

• Certification:** BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required; TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred.

• Skills:** Strong critical thinking, stress management, and emotional resilience in high-stakes situations.
