Triage USRN | Minnesota

In accordance with the Minnesota State Board of Nursing Practice Act, the telephone nurses’ primary responsibility is to independently triage telephone calls from clients. Using the nursing process, the triage nurse facilitates access to the health care system and/or negotiates a satisfactory resolution to the client’s concern.

The triage nurse is expected to work closely with providers, nurses, and other members of the organizations' staff by demonstrating effective communication, teaching, and negotiating skills. The telephone triage nurse is accountable for quality assessment; efficient management of care and client satisfaction, in collaboration with the health-care team and in accordance with the contracts agreed upon with non-Fairview owned entities and clients.
