Job description
Power Platform / SharePoint Technical Consultant Hourly Rate: $65-$75 an hour on w2 Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Power Platform / SharePoint Technical Consultant to support a Smart Energy program and help assess, stabilize, and modernize an existing portfolio of business process automation solutions.
This resource will be embedded within an enterprise IT Infrastructure team while supporting Smart Energy business initiatives. The initial focus will be on evaluating and remediating technical debt across existing Power Automate workflows, Power Apps, SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, and related integrations . The consultant will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to improve the reliability, maintainability, supportability, and long-term sustainability of the current automation environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assess the existing portfolio of Power Automate workflows, Power Apps, SharePoint solutions, and associated integrations . Identify and remediate technical debt, production support risks, and areas of instability within existing solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting Power Platform and SharePoint applications and workflows.
Review existing Power Automate flows for performance, reliability, dependencies, and support risks. Implement more standardized approaches to solution architecture, error handling, monitoring, logging, and operational controls . Review existing SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, permissions, dependencies, and governance controls .
Evaluate security and access configurations and recommend or implement appropriate improvements. Update and improve existing technical documentation to accurately reflect solution architecture, integrations, dependencies, and support procedures. Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, or improve existing automation solutions.
Partner with IT Infrastructure, Smart Energy stakeholders, and other technical teams to resolve integration and environment-related issues. Help establish sustainable support practices and technical standards for business process automation solutions. Support knowledge transfer and operational readiness so solutions can be effectively maintained over the long term.
Requirements
Desired Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Automate . Experience developing, supporting, or remediating Power Apps . Strong experience with SharePoint Online , including sites, lists, libraries, permissions, and governance. Experience troubleshooting integrations and dependencies between Power Platform, SharePoint, and other enterprise systems.
Understanding of Power Platform architecture and solution design best practices. Experience implementing error handling, monitoring, logging, and production support controls . Ability to assess existing applications and workflows, identify technical debt, and develop practical remediation recommendations. Experience documenting application architecture, workflows, integrations, dependencies, and operational procedures.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders. Preferred Background Experience supporting enterprise Power Platform environments with multiple production applications or workflows. Experience with Power Platform governance, security, and application lifecycle management.
Experience taking over and stabilizing solutions developed by another vendor or development team. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and broader Microsoft enterprise environments. Experience supporting automation solutions within a utility, energy, infrastructure, or other complex enterprise environment is helpful.
