Custodian Location: HVED

• Mall Location 1213 Gilmore Ave Winona, MN 55987 Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a part-time Custodian. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, minor building maintenance, and room set up. Primary Responsibilities Include: Sweeping and mopping/scrubbing floors Wiping down tables, chairs, and other high-touch surfaces Vacuuming carpet runners and entry mats Extracting and deep-cleaning carpeted areas as needed Washing interior windows and glass doors Emptying garbage and recycling receptacles Cleaning and disinfecting door handles and common area fixtures Monitoring the garbage collection site and surrounding grounds for loose trash and natural debris Sweeping and maintaining the public access area in front of the four adjacent businesses Assist facilities manager with minor building requests and room set up Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Physical ability to lift, bend, and complete cleaning tasks Prior custodial or cleaning experience preferred but not required Qualifications: Must pass a background check Must be at least 18 year of age Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time Salary: $15.00 - $23.25 based on experience FLSA Status: Non-exempt Hiawatha Valley Education District (HVED) provides special education services to 12 School Districts and 3 Charter Schools within five counties of southeast Minnesota: Fillmore, Houston, Olmsted, Wabasha, and Winona. HVED also has a Setting IV Behavior Programs that provides programming for students in grades K-12 with challenging behaviors currently receiving special education services. The Setting IV Behavior Program is located in Kellogg (SAIL). In addition, HVED provides programming for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (SPECTRUM). Our SPECTRUM program is located in Hokah. HVED offers an Alternative Learning Center housed in MN College SE located in Winona, MN.
