Position Summary
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS), a private institution with a 140+ year tradition located in Albany, NY, is seeking applications for a non-tenure track teaching faculty position (Assistant or Associate Professor; rank commensurate with experience) in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, which serves BS, MS, and PharmD programs.
We seek candidates with broad expertise in pharmaceutical sciences. Specific disciplines may include medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and pharmaceutics. Qualified applicants must have a Ph.D. (or other terminal degree in a relevant discipline) and prior teaching experience. Successful candidates will coordinate with colleagues in teaching existing courses required for students in our PharmD, MS, and BS programs.
In addition, candidates will be expected to develop new courses as needed and provide mentorship to students in capstone or thesis experiences. While not a primary focus of the position, opportunities exist to collaborate with current faculty research programs. A commitment to excellence in teaching and student development is essential, as are excellent communication (both verbal/written), interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.

Major Duties & Responsibilities: Teaching and development of courses in our BS, MS, and PharmD programs, as aligned with discipline and expertise.
Service on a broad variety of committees. Advising and mentoring of students across multiple programs. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Prior research experience is a plus.
Education and Experience
Ph.D. (or other terminal degree) in pharmaceutical sciences disciplines. Prior academic experience and/or experience in teaching in a Doctor of Pharmacy program. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Additional Information: This position is based in Albany, NY. The duties and responsibilities of this particular role require the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or interaction with our community, requiring all work to be performed full-time on-site. Standard work hours are from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday.
